Bitcoin investor Chun Wang and three polar explorers embarked on a historic SpaceX flight from NASA's Kennedy Space Center, becoming the first people to travel over both the North and South Poles in space. The journey, lasting 3 ½ days, involves circling the globe from an altitude of 270 miles and requires 46 minutes to travel from pole to pole. Wang's companions include Norwegian filmmaker Jannicke Mikkelsen, German robotics researcher Rabea Rogge, and Australian polar guide Eric Philips. The team plans to conduct various experiments, including the first human X-rays in space, and capture extensive documentation of their trip, named Fram2 after a historic Norwegian polar research ship. The mission aims to push boundaries, share knowledge, and bring attention to climate change and the melting polar ice caps. Wang pitched the idea to SpaceX, inspired by U.S. tech entrepreneur Jared Isaacman's earlier chartered flights with the company.
